Male City is the capital of the republic, and concurrently the most populous city in the Maldives. In the capital, there is everything that it should be in the east city: the mosque, the market, a lot of souvenir shops, small cafes with exotic foods and more. There is virtually impossible to get lost in Male, all streets are located on three major roads. Also there are a huge number of hotels on the island, each of which has its own dinghy. There is a little of night life in the Maldives, but have to say, loud parties are not needed. National Museum is popular among tourists, located in the Park of Sultans. There are a lot of archaeological finds opened by Thor Heyerdahl during expeditions to the Maldives. The museum has a large collection of sultans` jewelry, ancient manuscripts of the Koran and many other historical artifacts.
